11th Dimension Press is proud to announce RITA WRITES, a collection of anecdotes and opinion pieces
Rita Smith, Thorold, Ontario, is poised to release her second book, a collection of anecdotes and opinion pieces originally written for local newspapers. Rita’s collection, entitled RITA WRITES, will be available August 1st 2015 from the independent 11th Dimension Press.
Aside from her husband, lovingly referred to as Father o’ Flynn, Rita Smith is perhaps one of the most recognizable figures in the small Niagara Region community of Thorold. For most of the nineteen nineties Rita’s columns were a mainstay in the local newspaper offering common sense advice for common people’s problems and a good dose of laughter. RITA WRITES brings together all Rita’s favourites with vibrant and funny illustrations by Lauren Murphy-Larsen.
Rita’s articles introduce her husband of many years, a man of many nicknames, many hobbies, and many lovable (?) quirks. Rita will also introduce you to her friend Hilda, or, rather, Harebrained Hilda who earned her nickname honestly. You’ll meet Rita’s children and grandchildren as she shares her adventures in everyday life. RITA WRITES explores many of the themes and challenges that face real families in real life with heart and humour.

RITA WRITES will be available August 1st 2015.
